I graduated yesterday.

Mon May 18, 2009, 10:03 AM
quietly freaked out when I woke up
dressed up
calmed down
played hide-an-go-seek with my neice in my grad. gown
hugged a million people, teachers and friends
was nervous
watched em blow up the beachballs in the back row
waited for what seemed like forever
clapped for people without paying any real attention
finally walked across the stage while sammie cat-called to me from her seat (heeyy sexy lady (haha)
had Summers flip me off at the end of graduation (heh. an inside joke)
hung out with my friends and hugged a million more people
lost my family
searched for em to find them than promptly lose them again
went to the library for the party with syd, sammie, and heather
sat out in front with jen and a few others because there was no room inside
recieved a ton of letters
cleaned up
went to the elmentary school like old times and with nearly everyone it seemed
played baseball
attempted to not cuss in front of all the small children
gave up
hula-hooped and danced to music in the street with theresa, russ, danielle, chuck, mark, and a few others until it got dark
played a short game of shadow tag
walked to casey's
figured out that i may like someone
decided to go to shelby's party
drove out with russ following behind the others
smoked
watched all the good-natured drunk people and laughed
had some interesting conversations
headed home
almost hit two horses that were in the highway
got freaked out
dropped russ off
and headed home to get some sleep.

college.

Thu Mar 12, 2009, 3:04 PM
Tomorrow's spring break. I really can't believe I'll be more than half-way through my first year of college this time next year...

I'm accepted to Pitt State, I'm excited to say the least. Though, I'll admit I really wish I had the money to go to Kansas City Art Institue. But $30,000 a year is a bit too much for me.. And I kinda wanna prove to myself that I could get somewhere with my art without having the prestigious school name backing me. it'll be a challenge, but I'm more than up for it.

I'm checking out Halmark's photography school, i might consider it sometime after college.

Before or after that..i'm not sure yet, i'm gonna travel. I want to get that internship with national geographic. but i'll really have to work on my portfolio, i'm really quite enthusiastic about it though.

I wanna go everywhere and it seems like the perfect job. i'd be extremely happy to just stay at as an intern to one of the photographers even. I figure I'd learn more from them than from all of college put together.

Pitt's got a pretty good art program, and I've heard from one of my friends that their photography teacher's pretty good. Also my teacher keeps telling me that their jewelry design class is pretty great as well. i'm really kinda curious about that one.

I dunno though, i'm really kinda scared at the same time of being excited about everything..but i figure i'll have a good time. I've got a few friends going to the same place so hopefully it'll all be good.

Devious Journal Entry

heh gotta say, this is the first year that school hasn't just rushed in and hit me in the face like a ton of bricks.

nah..i was actually looking forward to it surprisingly. I got a good reason at least, SENIOR YEAR. fuck..about time too.
haha i can remember in middle school 'just 6 more years..6 more' and now its the last one..oy. scary.

best class schedule ever too. I don't even mind my Government class too much.

Art history is by far my best class I've ever had though, 8 students..and summers and us spend over half the time just discussing artwork/what is art/and crazy girlfriend stories..lol fun stuff.

ah, also I'll be making some money I think these next couple months. never thought i'd be happy about senior photos lol cause I'll be takin em for quite a few people.

start expecting some new 3-d art/actual paintings(holy crap lol..i haven't put any paintings up in months..) and other 2-d work.
I'm gonna work my ass off on those..at least i'm gonna try. i need the practice before college.

Warped Tour '08

Thu Jul 3, 2008, 9:44 AM
holy shit.

So, like everyone's first major concert..they all come out with at least one major story.
here's my bogus one..and man it sucked.

This was my first warped tour, lets just say that right now.
So, I went down with a bunch of friends that'd gone before. They'd called the day before saying they needed another driver and if I did it they'd pay for my ticket($38 seeing as I couldn't pay both that and gas). Now, we both had a group of people and I followed the other driver, Jared, all the way up there. But the thing is, he got turned around once and we drove for a bit trying to find the place..so I, myself, got confused.

But I stuck behind them and we got there fine. (to wait in an hour long line..with a guy in a pink gorilla suit and PETA people that were running up and down the line.)

--warped tour time in between--

(now...lets go home.)

It started freaking hailing and storming right near the end (we were mad because we missed this OreSkaBand that we wanted to see out of curiousity) we had to hide in the bathrooms until it cooled down(whining and scared girls shoved in a small place..fun). but man that was some storm.
We ran out to the cars and waited until most everyone else had left before we did, but still there was a huge ass line even when we left.

Of course, we got seperated in the line, so we called them and asked for someone who knew the way or at least a map..and those asses didn't give us one. I'm still pissed off at em for that.

They told us directions, and me and sam(sitting shotgun with Jarret in the back) tried to follow them, but of course we missed our turn once, not even knowing it.
All I really know is it was raining, dark and we had no clue where we were at til we saw the freaking skyscrapers and buildings of downtown Kansas City.

we crossed the Missouri River bridge for gods sake.

ugh..so many roads and so much confusion! we didn't know where to go, so I headed down an exit ramp thinking we could somehow get turned back around..

but it was fucking FLOODED at the bottom.....and there was no way we were getting through it.

so,..we headed back up the ramp, hazards flashing and somehow managing not to get hit, an got back on the road.
I went the next exit ramp (thankfully not flooded) and somehow managed to get back South on I-71.

Finally, we got ahold of sam's uncle that knows the area and somehow managed to follow his directions and make it back to 435 and slowly back home..

it was an ordeal that I really don't want to happen again...I still don't really know how we managed to get home. bah...I was basically running on adrenelin since I'd only gotten an hour and a half of sleep..

I definitely owe sam and his uncle a ton.. they were great. that's all there is to it..
Jarret though..(the guy in back) slept through the enitire fucking thing, didn't wake up til we hit paola...which i'm kinda thankful for.eh..

but, warped tour itself was alright, I guess. There were so many bands that I hadn't heard of before and not too many that were extremely impressive.
But the one's that were good, were very good. The best one's were Reel Big Fish (I crowd surfed for the first time during this one, pretty fun. except for the part where they dropped me on my hip lol but its all good) and Against Me, I really recommend them Live.
Man though... hearing Jack's Maniquin Live..was painful. we didn't stand next to the stage but they sound nothing like their cd.

I had great fun hanging out with everyone while it lasted, and people watching..living in a small town, you don't see so many different ones. so many awsome mohawks. lol

I'm definitely getting those guys back though... that last part sucked.

Back from Vacation

Tue Jun 24, 2008, 9:39 AM
Gone for a week and really really missing my own bed.
Plus, Hundreds of miles worth of driving..and my tailbone hurts..but man was it fun.

You're probably slightly confused.

Welp, went on a vacation/road trip to the grand canyon with my other family (my best bud syd's family that is)
Its just beautiful out there, especially the mountains (we went through Colorado, down through Utah and into Arizona) and the sandstone hills in Utah.
Ah and if you get the chance go to Lake Powell off the colorado river in Utah, its unbelievably clear, and the sandstone designs in the hills are amazing.

The grand canyon was of course very grand, but i have to say Bryce Canyon was much prettier (and less people) plus, syd and I got to actually hike down into it for a mile and a quarter.

The seven falls near pike's peak were pretty neat as well.
I'll definitely be posting quite a few pictures from it. most'll end up in scraps though later on.

I'm really looking forward to my end of school road trip a couple friends and I are taking though. We'll get to do everything we want.
white water rafting especially.
